2011 25' x 9' graffiti mural
Site: H*Art Gallery of Tennessee (110 E Main St.)
Artists: A crew of Chattanoogans and Southside residents with special thanks to Jarred Green
Partners: H*Art Gallery of Tennessee
Description: Hart Beat symbolizes the vision of the H*Art Gallery of Tennessee: to be a helping hands art gallery for homeless and other non-traditional artists while providing community-space in the “heart” of Chattanooga’s urban Southside. Neighborhood teens from the Southside designed triangle shaped symbols based on the question, “what makes our community special?” These were arranged to emanate from a large heart in the middle of the mural.
Hart Beat is a part of Mark Making’s Urban Heart Beat programming, which provides youth and other nonprofessional artist’s graffiti space and art education.
